Restrictions on Use of E-Books

E-books can be saved as a PDF, and in some cases also in ePub format, for use offline.

Scholarly and scientific e-books are primarily designed for PC or tablet use, and can only be used to a limited extent on e-readers.

Special restrictions on use apply for certain e-book platforms. Please note the information below:

Chapter download (max. 40% of the title each user/session/24 hours), or full download in Adobe Digital Editions (desktop/laptop), or in ADE-compatible apps (BlueFireReader, etc.).

To do this you have to file your personal AdobeID.

Depending on the type of license, it is possible to download (loan) a title for 1 to 28 days.

If a title is not available for either reading online or full download, it means that all simultaneous downloads have been exhausted (for example for single-user or three-user licenses). The title will become available again once the loan period has elapsed.
