In our course you will be given an introduction to the most important medical literature database, PubMed (Medline). By means of examples we will show you the structure and the search options of the database. You will learn how to save search strategies and how to set up alert services.
Course content:
- optimising search functions in PubMed
- how to search with the help of a medical index (MeSH terms)
- how to manage search results and save them permanently
- how to have search results automatically sent by email (alert services)
- how to edit search strategies and save them permanently
- linking via SFX to full texts
