Ordering books

Books from the Main Library collection can be ordered via the library catalogue (step-by-step instructions). Contrary to the display in the library catalogue (postal delivery CHF 12.-) this service of the Main Library is free of charge for UZH members until July 31th 2020.

Before you order books: Log into your user account and check your address details. Please enter your current address to ensure the parcel will be delivered to you.

Book returns

Media borrowed from HBZ locations can be returned during our opening hours.

Books can also be returned by mail. Borrowers cover the costs of book returns.

Study Spaces

The HBZ locations offer around 200 study spaces. The use is restricted to UZH members, the areas must be reserved. A reservation is possible at the earliest 2 days in advance. Notice the usage rules (PDF, 114 KB).

Ordering articles

Articles from journals can be ordered using the order from of the Main Library. This service of the Main Library is free of charge for UZH members of MNF, MeF and members of University Hospitals.

UZH members of other faculties use the services of their institute or faculty library and the Zentralbibliothek Zürich.

The Main Library is committed to providing a growing temporary offer and recommendations for teaching in addition to the regularly licenced E-Media portfolio. Please note the information on use of e-media.
